Viu and iQiyi International Partner to Launch Streaming Bundle Across Southeast Asia

Streaming competition in Southeast Asia is heating up as Viu and iQiyi International announce a new partnership that will give viewers access to both platforms through a single subscription package.

The bundled service is scheduled to launch during the second half of 2026 and will initially be available in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The collaboration aims to provide consumers with a wider selection of Asian entertainment while simplifying access through one subscription plan.

Expanding Access to Asian Content

Both streaming services have established strong audiences across Asia through their extensive libraries of dramas, films, reality shows, anime, and original productions.

Under the new partnership, subscribers will be able to enjoy content from both platforms without maintaining separate memberships.

Viu's catalog includes a wide range of Korean dramas, Chinese series, Southeast Asian productions, Viu Originals, and short-form microdramas. The platform has become one of the region's leading destinations for Asian entertainment.

Meanwhile, iQiyi International offers a diverse lineup of Chinese dramas, original series, anime, variety programs, films, and local productions tailored to international audiences.

New Shows Arriving on Viu

The announcement comes as Viu continues expanding its content offerings.

Recent and upcoming titles include:

  • The Season

  • GBRB: Farm Operation: Go Go Farm

  • Zhan Zhao Adventures

  • Zong Ran

  • Love In Sync

  • Dream To You

  • When Fish Swim To Land

  • I Became The Fake Heiress

These productions span multiple genres and languages, reflecting Viu's strategy of serving a diverse regional audience.

iQiyi Strengthens Its Regional Presence

iQiyi International also continues to invest heavily in Southeast Asian content and local partnerships.

Popular and upcoming titles on the platform include:

  • Pursuit Of Jade

  • Speed And Love

  • Khemjira

  • The Other Sister

  • Griya

  • Running Man Thailand

The company has spent several years building its presence outside mainland China, making Southeast Asia one of its most important international growth markets.

Industry Leaders Highlight Strategic Partnership

Janice Lee, CEO of Viu and Managing Director of PCCW Media Group, said the partnership is designed to make high-quality Asian content more accessible to audiences throughout the region.

According to Lee, combining the strengths of both platforms allows viewers to access a broader range of entertainment while enjoying a more convenient viewing experience through a single subscription.

iQiyi President Yang Xianghua described the agreement as an important milestone in the company's international expansion strategy.

He noted that the combined libraries will provide viewers with greater content variety while strengthening the broader Asian entertainment ecosystem.

Growing Demand for Regional Streaming Services

The partnership reflects a larger trend within the streaming industry. As competition intensifies, platforms are increasingly looking for ways to differentiate themselves through partnerships, bundled offerings, and exclusive regional content.

Southeast Asia remains one of the fastest-growing streaming markets globally, driven by increasing internet access, smartphone adoption, and growing demand for local-language entertainment.

Rather than competing solely on price, streaming providers are now focusing on content variety and convenience to attract and retain subscribers.

What This Means for Viewers

For consumers, the bundled subscription could offer significant value by bringing together two of Asia's most recognizable streaming brands under one package.

Instead of choosing between platforms, viewers will gain access to a larger entertainment library that includes:

  • Korean dramas

  • Chinese dramas

  • Southeast Asian originals

  • Anime

  • Variety shows

  • Films

  • Microdramas

The move could make it easier for fans of Asian entertainment to discover content from multiple countries without managing separate subscriptions.

Looking Ahead

As streaming services continue to evolve, partnerships like the one between Viu and iQiyi International may become increasingly common. By combining resources and content libraries, platforms can offer viewers greater value while strengthening their position in a highly competitive market.

The new bundled subscription is expected to launch across Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines later in 2026, marking a significant development for the Southeast Asian streaming industry.
